Depends on your doctor, when my SIL delivered they made her to feed immediately as she started secreting colostrum so baby was made to lie down next her and made to feed, this happened in chennai. I delivered in Mumbai but I produced colostrum only the next day so for day 1 she was fed with formula. So check with your doctor about all this.
