How were your first 40 days after the baby was born? Not entering the kitchen, staying away from family functions etc etc etc?

to allow us to rest is ok but then to eat what they say, do what they say is the part I don't like... actually they don't help they are also guessing what is wrong with the baby and that I feel creates more fuss because some say baby is crying because of tummy ache, some say something else and are juggling with the baby where as all the baby want to do is have some peace and go to sleep... they just don't understand

whatever rituals we follow generally have strong reasons associated with them so those 40 days is basically given to mother and baby so that she can recover completely and also take care of baby w/o any worries. sometimes it was kind of upsetting but was manageable .

I was happy that finally I delivered a healthy baby .. I didn't even felt the stress as I was happy with my baby but the worst things was my husband and in laws tortured me with their nonsense talk ... on the 4th day itself but I overcame everything keeping in mind that if I react on those it will have impact on my health and on my baby also so I simply avoided .
