I am 16 weeks pregnant and I noticed vaginal discharge (little) and few drops of blood. I immediately had a sonography which says that placenta is significantly ying low and it is seen reaching internal os. I have consulted my doctor and she advised me for complete bed rest. I want to know whether it is normal and it will be okay soon by doing bedrest? Any advice which can help me to get the baby in the normal position?

a low lying placenta is a common finding early on. in majority of cases the placenta will move upwards as the uterus expands in size as pregnancy progresses. a repeat scan will show this. in few the placenta will continue to remain low. there is nothing for you to do to make the placenta move. rest for now.
