📚 I believe reading is one of the best hobbies for kids which has no harmful effects, requires no special tools or skills, can be done at any time, place or situation, needs no parental supervision,requires no major investment but in itself is the best long term investment 👍👍

📚 Reading books is important because it plays an important role in the all round development of the child. Every book has something different to offer such as improving vocabulary and language fluency, enhancing imagination and creativity,develop curiosity about new topics and possibilities, potential to connect the bridge between the past and the present, ability to appreciate the geographical changes in the world , better understanding of different emotions, history of our existence, important life lessons,etc.


📚 I noticed that my 4 yr old son started liking books only after I made it an interactive session instead of a monotonous story telling session.

📚I would ask him to interpret the book based on the pictures or connect the story to a real life scenario or ask him to weave the story imagining he were the main character of the story or make him enact the story or even quick memory game about what all he remembers from the book we just read,etc.

📚 Apart from this, assigning a comfortable and well lit reading area where the books are displayed in an attractive manner and each book is easily visible and accessible to the child also helped to encourage the reading habit in him.
