I found this pic while going through old pictures to pick out one for #OnceUponATimeTheMe post. I got so emotional, all the memories flashed through my mind, just can't believe how fast time flies. 😔  This is Caesar, 1 month old.

It was my 2nd month marriage anniversary (yes we celebrated every month for a year) and I asked my hubby for a pup as my gift.
After meeting many people, we came across this man who told us about this little pup whose mother was dead and all his siblings were already adopted but nobody took him coz he was the last born (last borns are the weakest & their chances of survival are least)

When I saw him I felt so bad looking at his condition, he was so tiny and weak. At first I was doubtful to take him, I was not at all sure how long he would survive. But you call it destiny or my luck, after spending some 15 mins with that lil pup I wanted to take him home.

He was just like a pre mature baby, we took him to the doc who explained how bad his condition was. He told us how next 15 days were crucial for him, he asked us to take care of him just like a little new born sick baby.

He was on medicines from day 1, feeding him was a struggle, I used to feed him every 2 hrs with a syringe and he would vomit out everything after sometime. He used to sleep whole day for the first month, I would take him in my lap and feed him in his half dead state. Those were horrible days, I would check on him every few minutes if he's breathing or not.

I remember how we had shifted our bed onto the floor to give him company and he would sleep snuggled up beside my pillow. Sometimes he would cry but gradually he adapted in his new home. Soon he started loving his new parents, he started responding to his name, he started showing interest in playing.

After 15 days when we visited the doc, he was surprised to see how much improvement was there in Caesar, he was out of danger. But the struggle was not yet over, Caesar had not gained enough weight to get his first vaccination shot. But we were determined and confident to turn him into a healthy active dog. After all he was our baby.

And look at him now, nobody can say once he was in such a bad condition. There is so much power in Love.

Raising a pup is similar to raising a baby.
