I have been talking about paryushana (8 days Jain festival) here... Today is the last day called the SAMVATSARI (International Forgivness Day)
.
.
It is the holiest day for the jains. Many jains observe a complete fast on this day.. some jains dont even drink water on this day..
.
.
The whole day is spent in prayers and contemplation.. The most important being Pratikramana (Jain prayer) literally meaning "introspection". .
.
Jains seek forgivness from all the creatures of the world whom they have harmed knowingly or unknowingly by uttering the phrase 'Michami Dukkadam' literally meaning 'may all the evil that has been done be fruitless'...
.
.
Now isn't this something beautiful? Jainism is all about introspection and forgiveness... .
.
This picture is taken last year on samvatsari.. #MrK was 48 days old..
.
.
What do u feel about this? .
.
Also Michami Dukkadam to my baby chakra family here...
