Im just going to pick my child from the school, I'll go in my PJs...why dress up unnecessarily?
Im just going for a quick trip to the grocery and run other errands, il wear my track pants and any tee.
Im just taking my kid to the park/building compound to play, il put on any kurta with leggings...who cares what i wear anyways?
Sounds familiar??
This is a big problem with almost all SAHM. (Stay at home moms). The working moms have no choice but to dress up everyday to go to work, but we often ignore our appearance unless we have to go for a family dinner or on festivals.
Dressing up for me is therapeutic. Even if im feeling a little low or lazy, the moment I start dressing up I feel better. I go for yoga after dropping my son school so im in my workout clothes then. But school pick up is the time I try and put a little effort to dress up. Most of the times we come back home and I change back in a while to pray, feed him etc. But if we have an outing planned atleast I'm decently dressed for it.
Caring for your self, your looks does not make you a selfish person, it just makes you a happier person who in turn takes care of others comfort and happiness in the family.
The most basic things you can start with are
1. If you step out of the house for school pick ups and drops, buying groceries, even the smallest errand DO NOT step out in the clothes you were lounging in the house. Change into something else, doesnt matter if its casual, just change.
2. If your kids are older and can manage themselves and you have absolutely no opportunity to step out of the house, once u r done with your morning household routine, the moment you get even 5 mins just change out of your night wear into something simple and casual.
3. Do Not wear ill fitting, worn out or worse slightly torn clothes thinking its ok. Get it altered if you are too attached to it.
3. Do a proper skincare CTM (cleansing, toning, moisturising) routine according to your skin type in the morning/afternoon and before bedtime.
4. Dont leave your hair in a bun 24×7. I'm not saying keep it open but maybe try to make atleast a little fancy bun, a plait, experiment a little with clips and other hair accessories.
It will take a while for you to get used to this if you have been ignoring yourself a lot but slowly and steadily include all this in your routine. Now tell me when do you get an opportunity to step out and do you follow all these things? #Bbcreatorsclub #creatorsclub #newparent #motherhood #selfcare #selfcaretips #curlymomchronicles

I actually follow most of them except the skincare one and of course the second one. Self care is so underestimated! Contradictorily, it actually needs to be a priority!
