It seems like my 8-month-old baby is generally using me as a pacifier. He simply cannot fall asleep without me. Besides my breastmilk is not as much as it was before so I additionally feed him with; infant formula. What shall I do to avoid him sleeping on my breast and waking me every two hours at night

Hi, how long as this 2 hr feed been going on. Sometimes babies do this for comfort when they are going thru a leap (growth spurt) . In case of a spurt it will last for few weeks.

You are right. An eight month old should not need to wake up for a feed every two hours. If he is feeding well and eating a good dinner plus taking formula then six to eight hours at a stretch at night can be expected. Have a family member take charge of night times. Feed him well and then don't sleep next to him. Atleast one awakening should be handled by someone else. There will be crying and protests but that is normal. It can take a few days.
