Just a day ago, my vivacious 3 year old and I had a fabulous camping trip! Last night, we made sure that her uniform, bag, office dress is ready. Prepared for her tiffin today. Jotted down my office to-do for a busy Monday morning and dozed off in peace!

At 2:30 am, she started squirming in pain and high fever. Threw up twice. Even in deep sleep, we made a mental list of who need to be informed that we can't make it tomorrow.

Needless, we have been awake since then.
Now that she will be 4 in May, I have gone through this multiple times and so has my husband, but every time it happens, it feels like the most difficult thing to do. So hard to see a child limp and lifeless in a matter of hours! & To turn apologetic for whatever needed to be done the next day. Every hour, I sit beside her and pray that she can eat a spoonful of something and our life normalizes soon.
Does this happen to any of you ever?
PS: This App seems my only vent right now!

May be stomach infection. Keep her well hydrated. Appetite may drop. Do not worry. Give a her lot of fluids. Also talk to her Pediatrician once. Take care.

hey rhitu - this happens many times wth my 9 yr old. mostly whn she's eaten something from outside that didn't suit her tummy, or played long in the sun, or whn a tummy bug starts going around or whn she's swallowed too much water at the pool :( the nxt day i avoid giving her milk and wth the usual diet control we're back to normal. i feel like kicking myself every time but i remind myself it's all about growing up. trust me, it gets better. so pls don't beat urself :) hugs!

Its heartbreaking to see kids sick and more soever after travel as we cant but feel guilty that maybe if we didn't go things would have been better. All the travels more than anything builds their immunity like no other. While this is a phase that will also pass, make plans for your next trip together! :)

I wish a speedy recovery...It's common in most of the kids I feel. One is sudden climate changes. My gal also face this... that I feel because.... where ever new place.. she feel excited and won't eat properly. Her mind will be on interacting ppl, show her skills and to play. This will lead to gastric and again vomiting or stomach ache. And also.. she will be hyperactive... playing and doing things more than her regular activity. For exerting too much... she will get fever. Once we are back from any place, my gal will sleep long for 2 days. And then she will become alright. Proper food and sleep will cure half of our ailments.
Take care of yourselves also.
