Have you ever thought what could be best to make toddlers busy? Is it just a messy play? How about making them solve puzzles?
Puzzles are a great way to engage toddlers as it helps develop basic skills such as shape recognition, concentration, goal setting, patience and a sense of achievement, which will stand children in good stead for school. Puzzles also develops hand-eye co-ordination and fine motor skills due to the precise nature of matching each piece exactly.
Little story time - I bought four pieces puzzle initially for Simra so that she could do it easily, then purchased an eight pieces one. It’s a great way to keep her engaged indoors. I try to mix everything, she then tries to find the exact match by finding here and there. I got fruit, vegetable and animal puzzles...to make her enjoy and learn some fine skills.
