#momathon Birthday or a festival?? Over the period of time many things have changed and one of them is birthday celebration of our kids. Planning a birthday party for your kid nowadays is a big task. I remember when we were small we used to have a small gathering including family, friends and their mommies. Cake cutting( mind it a simple cake not a fancy one with a cartoon character or fairy or so) and samosa, kalajamun, safed sweet, mixture for snacks. It was the same for everyone. Everyone used to eat and chit chat for sometime and then the party is over. But now starting with the cake.... Oh my my...the kids have so many choices... Cakes for boys are different and girls are different. On top of that there are certain other parameters which we need to keep in mind like the colour of the cake, the picture on it, the flavour etc. Then comes the snacks.... If you are celebrating at home be prepared for another brainstorming session with the items to be served. Then the kids today demand for some activities like tattoo making, magic show, puppet show etc. The room needs to be decorated again as per the kids choice. And last but very important the concept of return gifts. If you are celebrating outside then just ignore the snack part ,you can choose the snacks available there. So with time those small family gatherings have changed to exclusively for kids kind of parties. Kids today have become more demanding as compared to what we were. They want everything of their own choice. Anyways whatever it is....the best part is we as kids used to enjoy our birthdays and our kids also enjoy their birthdays 😃
