Shop smart for your baby’s clothes.

As parents we want to the give the best to our child. Buying baby clothes is so much fun as new born parents, specially when there are so many cute options to choose from. But while doing this do we end up splurging on things that might not be as useful? And most importantly, the first year is a whirlwind of growth and spit up, so you will want to dress the baby accordingly. When you want to buy clothes that are both cute and useful you should consider this month by month guide.

0 - 6 months:

👗Your child will spend the vast amount of her first three months sleeping, eating and pooping. And the last one often result in messy and soiled clothes.

👗You shouldn't waste your money on expensive outfits that she will outgrow, or that will be covered up by your baby's swaddle blanket. (Now,this is something you can splurge on!)

👗For everyday dressing, make sure You stock plenty of onesies, rompers, booties and hats to keep her extremities warm.

👗Splurge on may be five nice outfits for your baby to wear when company comes, when you have photos taken, or for special occasions.

👗 Splurge on outfits according to the current season and right fit and size. You can’t use it for long.

6 - 9 months:

👗 During this phase the baby usually starts rolling and crawling. Try and prefer play sets, rompers or body suits, that will keep their knees covered.

👗Be careful with dresses for a baby girl, as they often get stuck under her knees as she begins to crawl, causing her to trip.

👗Also, as the baby starts eating solid foods and teething causes drooling, stock up on bibs so the clothes don't get ruined.

9 - 12 months:

👗 Now that your baby has mastered crawling or even started walking choose comfortable separates such as t-shirts, soft denim, leggings and other outfits that allows your baby to move.

👗If your baby girl is walking now, pull out those super cute tutus you put away while she was learning to crawl. Skirts and party frocks look best when girls start walking.

👗Splurge in good quality and right fit shoes that will not hinder the growth of her feet, to complete the look of the outfit.

When it comes to shopping for clothes for babies, try and buy basic and solid colours like - black, grey, white, red. These can be mix matched with different things and give you a new outfit everytime. And then further accessorise it with a fancy hat or cap, or a scarf in winters, or suspenders to give it a fancy look. Layering is the key to dress smart for babies while not splurging on their outfits.

Spending smart and investing in right clothes can help you manage your budget and wardrobe for your baby.
