#MommyTakeOver

Hello Beautiful Moms and Lovely Moms to be. I am Shreya from Mumbai and am all set for today’s Mommy #Mommytakeover . To start with I would like to thank entire Team of Babychakra for giving me this wonderful opportunity and making me feel so special!!

We all get so tired and so engrossed in our routine lives…..be it taking care of baby, cooking, decorating house, pleasing in laws at Home or Boss at Office that we tend to forget about our being. In such times, Babychakra really comes to our rescue, giving us breather in life and making us realize our self-worth as Woman First.

Now, talking about myself, I basically come from City of Nawabs- LUCKNOW. My parents, younger sister and brother live there. I have spent most part of my childhood and school and graduation in Lucknow.

Coming from family of bureaucrats, atmosphere at home was always that of STUDIES!!. My parents and especially my mother was always focussed towards our studies. Sundays were fun, when we went out for lunch, spending our evenings eating famous chaats for Lucknow and roaming around in beautiful gardens & markets around the city.

Living in nuclear family, there was not much of Hulla Gulla (apart from sibling fights). We are close knit family, where my mother is the thread, keeping us all together. She was very ambitious in life but due to getting married at age of 18 and having me at of 19, she was not able to pursue her dreams in those times. That’s why, focus was always on our studies and she wanted me to become IAS Officer. Yes, I was a bright student, always in top 10 students in class. So,I focussed most of my time studying and gaining knowledge.. It was just me and my Syllabus Books, Classes, Tuitions, Coaching’s etc. With limited circle of friends, who were also toppers!!

So, that’s all about my BACHPAN and there was not much excitement happening as we hardly visited our cousins etc. I don’t have many either.

So after my graduation, I wanted to study in Delhi University in one of the leading colleges. After scoring well in 12th, I got admission in Delhi, in my dream college.

My mom went with for admissions and then we came back to Lucknow. But then the real DRAMA started. My Mom started crying Day and Night and was very emotional about sending me alone out of City. Nobody in family has gone to study alone before. So naturally, she was scared and also did not want to live away from me. I was not able to see her in such condition and decided to give up my dream college and took admission locally in Lucknow!

However, towards the end of my graduation, me and my mom realised, it was a mistake and I should have gone out for better education and better exposure to the world. By this time, it was time for my younger sister to move out and take admission in Delhi University. She topped and got through. This time my mom was stronger and we insisted, she must go out for better quality of education.
Now, I was getting restless in Lucknow and wanted to move out badly, also my preparations to become IAS officer was not going anywhere and I was feeling stuck in life.

So I decided to have Plan B ready for my career move to Delhi to take coaching for MBA Preparations.

I was like Bird out of Cage!!
