#mommytakeover Post 6 Enough of in laws and family drama friends ...let's talk a bit about mommy hood!! I got married in early 2006, and by end of 2008 we had decided to start a family...2 years of married life challenges had given me so much stress that when I conceived, I had both anaemia and hypothyroid... I was 29 then and as expected, my pregnancy was a bit complicated but my parents and sister helped me sail through it...as always my in laws were audience to everything and even after my daughter was born it was my parents and sister and Gaurav who were by my side..my in laws wanted to impose their right of being grandparents, but didn't want to fulfill any responsibility which came with that.. Anyways by now even Gaurav had understood many things about his family and we wanted to just concentrate on our child..again how could my life be simple and normal?..just when Ankita, my daughter was 6 months old she was detected with severe UTI which took almost a year to get all right.. Tests, innumerable injections, doctor visits was what we did for months, and if it was not for my parents and sister, I would have died..to give you an idea, there was a time when Ankita had Vigo on her hands tied for intravenous injections and we had to fly to Ahmedabad...for one week, I and everyone had to take care of her hand movements 24/7 so that the Vigo needle doesn't rupture her small hand.. I saw my 8 months child in unbearable pain..not able to even tell her trauma, she either cried a lot or was lying numb...she was reduced to a skeleton like thing... and everyone just cried and prayed.. We once even asked my MIL to come over for just 15 days and help as my mom had fractured her feet and my sister was needed there but even in that condition she refused..my dad asked my sister to be with me in Ahmedabad and handled everything alone in kanpur..my sister was such a darling maasi that she even missed her M.Com. exams for my daughter!! By the time Ankita got well, I and Gaurav were too disillusioned with his family...and even Gaurav realized that it was my family who stood by us... After all this happened and after I had seen my daughter in such a bad condition I couldn't muster up the courage to leave her alone with someone, and do a job.. it was time for my sister's marriage and my dad's business was still running so even they couldn't leave kanpur and help, so I decided to be with my child and look after her... many people judged me for this and even today do that but this was what suited our situation the best at that time!!.. Since then I have realized that mother hood is a beautiful journey, which one day will make you pull your hair and cry and on the other will make you revel in your child's unconditional love!! A message to all women and mommies...people will judge you for any and everything you do or don't do in your life, but you are the best judge of your situation..so do what suits you well and not what people want you to do!! As for my in laws after 7 years of my marriage, and after giving me all the pain, they could they encountered two big problems in their life which gave them lots of umlearned lessons..one despite all efforts for 4 long years my BIL struggled for a marriage alliance to get fixed and; second my MIL fell severely ill..once again despite all that had happened, and even though they had never been like a family to us, I, Gaurav and even my parents supported them...my MIL, FIL and BIL could finally realize many things and have now changed a lot..my BILs finally got married and after her coming,; my MIL has started valuing me a lot..we now live our lives while fulfilling our responsibilities but some wounds never heal... Thanks so much everyone for bearing with me so patiently and for being with me throughout the day.. I love you all.. coming up is my last post where we will end this; with something sweet!!
