Every Diwali my MIL takes this lamp out and put a new wink in it. The whole year this lamp is not used. Have you ever studied under lanterns or lamps light?
I remember those days when I lived in a small place with power cuts always. Sometimes it would take weeks for the bulbs to lighten up. We would sit in our "aangan" or terrace and study under these lights. The feeling used to be so genuine and good. We used to count stars, also would experience Thandi thandi hawa...Now I don't even remember the last time when I saw the sky full of stars. We are heading towards an self made life. I wonder if our children will ever know how lanterns looked?; I guess some years ahead people won't do any work on himself... Instead robots in ech house will do... Don't know if we were living in underprivilage society or they will be living in super high tech one.
Share your lamps stories if you have any. And also share how to keep these small things alive in the future?
