Momo is a type of dumpling with some stuffings.It is a traditional and authentic delicacy of southern Asia,Nepal & East India.This recipe is a basic veggie Momos & can serve with red Momo chutney or tomato ketchup.
Ingredients:-
For dough.
1)maida-1.5 Cup
2)salt-pinch
3) water-as required
4)oil-1/2 tsp *In a mixing bowl add all purpose flour/maida,salt and make it into a soft dough by using enough amount of water.
*Add oil and knead for 5 mints, close the lid keep aside. For stuffing
1)Ginger-1 tsp
2)Garlic-1 tsp
3)cabbage-1 cup(chopped)
4)carrot-1/2 cup(grated)
5)green chillies-1tsp (chopped)
6)pepper powder-1/2 tsp
7)salt-as per taste
8)oil-1 tbsp
9) Coriander leaves-2 tsp(chopped) *To a pan,add oil followed by ginger,garlic and green chillies.Saute for a minute.
*Now add cabbage,carrot,salt and pepper powder.Saute it well till raw smell goes.
*Add coriander leaves and close the lid till it Cooks completely. Method to make Momos:- *Take small amount of dough,roll it into thin sheet using rolling pin.
*Take 2tsp of stuffing and placed into a center of the sheet.
*Start pleeting the half of the sheet and leave the remaining plain.
*Now take a round bottom vessel with water,place the Momos into Momo steamer or idli stand.
*Close the lid and Now cook for 10-15mints.
*Enjoy the Momos with this breezing monsoon winds with some momos chutney or tomato ketchup.
