From 67 kgs to 50kgs..here is my postpartum weight loss story

Before I start I want you to know that here you won't find any diet chart or exercises or any motivational journey of weight loss. I lost weight taking my own sweet time, doing simple tasks and eating the right thing at right time.

I was 67kgs when I delivered... After coming home we follow a traditional japa period when the new mother is put to rest. I religiously drank ajwain water during this period and continued for 2 months. I had ghee but never touched sweets or laddoos. I used to have simple dal and green vegetables cooked with only ghee, water, salt and pepper. Snacks would consist of fruits, fox nuts, etc.

I continued taking my folic acid and calcium tablets till the time I breastfed which I think gave me a lot of strength.

I raised my son without any help. I washed his clothes, massaged him, bathe him, cleaned his bottles, etc. I was determined to do it all and obviously, it was hectic but I had two advantages of it.. first I have enjoyed every bit of raising him up and secondly I lost weight in that process... I had a c-section on Friday afternoon and I was released on Monday morning and when I came home I climbed two storey of my building on my own. I was determined to be physically active since the moment I delivered. I took bath on my own and did all the basic work during japa. For a year I did all the work possible. I traveled with my son 4 times in his 1st year itself. I used to hang him in the carrier bag and go grocery shopping. Nothing ever stopped me. I wore party clothes, cut my long hair short Bob and just did everything I wanted to.

Doing all this kept my confidence going. It was my own decision to shed those extra kilos.
My only intention in sharing this post is to motivate all the new mothers who might find it difficult to accept their new bodies. Please do not lose yourselves in this process. Buy yourself a dress even if you are not in your best shape, get hair color, or do whatever to keep yourself motivated. You are amazing just the way you are.""
