Most babies start teething around the age of 6 months. The baby might show a few signs and symptoms of teething like putting objects and fingers in their mouth, having swollen and tender gums, irritability, cranky behaviour, and loss of appetite at times. To comfort your baby during this time and to ensure that the baby gets the required nutrients, here are a few tips you can use.

Breastfeed your baby from time to time.
Prepare popsicles and momsicles (popsicles made with breast milk). Blending fresh fruits and freezing them into popsicles/ momsicles can help comfort the discomfort caused by teething. It’s also a great way to keep your baby hydrated.
Feed soft foods like fruit or vegetable purees, mashed curd rice, or khichdi. Giving plain yogurt is also a good food option during teething.
Let your baby sip in some healthy fruit smoothies or juices during the day to manage the irritability caused by teething.
Frozen fruits (fruits with high water content) and soft veggies can also soothe the pain and irritability caused by teething.

Note: In case of excess discomfort, loss of appetite, irritation, or fever please consult your doctor.
