As advised by Babychakra expert Sonali Shivlani (Prenatal & Lactation Consultant) -
A baby's weight is supposed to triple the birth weight by the time the baby reaches one year of age. Along with this we should also look at the height gain. If there is linear growth which means there is optimum growth in height then there is no cause for concern. It is also important to remember that a baby this age is more active, may be crawling actively and even walking hence the calorie burn is higher. If baby is active, healthy and happy, if weight has tripled the birth weight or is close to triple and if there is an increase in height just relax.
