It's best to avoid any outside items even formula for a baby under six months of age. Breast milk is the best choice. Breast milk is hygienic and easy to digest hence less chances of infection and allergies. If you feel that milk supply is less your first option should be to increase the same. Feed more often as this will Stimulate the supply. Also check with the doctor regards weight gain. If baby is gaining weight and height adequately then there is no reason to start formula.

my doctor absolutely recommended against it. he advised me to exclusively breastfeed. as the combination of formula milk and breastmilk can cause unnecessary problems. and the more baby stimulates the breast the more milk production will happen.please add zeera in ur diet. and if u r a non vegetarian try including fish also. try expressing milk at times when baby isnt feeding. but I implore you to try everything before resorting to lactogen.
