my baby like to watch n hear calmly the animated rhymes..then my mother in law says that, it is a bad habit for babies @ this time.

Its better not to expose babies to tv, laptop, mobile etc this early. Research proves that babies under 2 watching such mediums have delayed speech development, also not good for eyes. You colud play songs to her, but best is to sing yourself. For the baby, her mother's voice is the most soothing and calming voice in the world. You could learn and sing the rhymes to her...

Hi Aisha, avoid showing too much screen/TV. If the baby is happy just listening to it there is no harm let baby enjoy. some instrumental from Mozart etc are good for babies for their brain development.
