Hai.. that cranky sound is from mouth or nose? if baby nose is blocked then some snoring kind of sound you may listen. If baby have phlegm accumulation... then while sleeping you can hear purring sound like a cat from throat or chest. Even babies dream...if baby have started cooing.. it may be that. My baby use to make sound like "aaaaa...." sometimes. If baby is happily sleeping, then everything is fine. No need to worry.
