Even though you both are fair.. in your family or hubby's family is anyone is bit dark...then chances will be there. Don't worry about color. Use olive oil for massage. Use mild baby wash for bath and good moisturiser after bath. Mostly kids will turn darker and again regain their color after 3rd month.
