If you are exclusively breast feeding then you should feed on demand. Additionally keep track of the number of times the baby passed urine. A minimum of seven urines per day signifies adequate milk intake. A baby who is exclusively breast fed will pass yellow colored stools and this signifies that the composition of milk is also optimum. Some babies may give longer gaps at night and hence feed more frequently during the day and that's just fine as long as the urine and stools are maintained.

Hi Asha. Ideally you should feed your baby on demand. But never give a gap of 4 hours or beyond till the baby turns 3 months old. That's what my doc advised. If the baby is asleep gently wake him up and feed.

Hello Asha, I believe you must feed your baby on demand. At such an age babies are extremely good at conveying their needs.

hi, feed at interval of every 2 hours, at times baby might feel hungry in less time and at times can stretch beyond 2 hours. but 2 hours should be good enough.
