My daughter is 3 years old. She recongnizes whenever she needs to pee and also when to pass motion. She tell us to take her to toilet for pee. But whenever she wants to pass her motion, she stands in a place and want her underwear on while she passes the motion. If i take her to toilet or remove her underwear or make her sit for motions. She starts crying a lot and stops the passage of motion. I tried making her understand by all the means but she is not buying anything on this. i am unable to understand that what problem she is facing to pass a motion in toilet by sitting when she is ok in peeing by sitting in toilet. please help on how to make her pass the motions in toilet.

hi suhasini - sonali & preetjyot have given u some excellent advice! my daughter used to do something similar :) potty training videos and songs and cartoons help. u can get her used to saying bye to her potty that she does by dumping it into the loo and making it a game wth a gradual transition. u can try using an animal shaped potty u can ride on - name it, make it her friend. what worked for my daughter was a potty seat wth a giraffe on the cushion. she loved the idea of sitting on the giraffe and doing potty. perhaps she was scared of falling into the loo? cud be the same case here. good luck. don't lose heart or patience. and be playful about it :)

I agree with sonali, for me poopoo training books helped and we had a little ritual of singing while she would try to poop

This is a tricky situation. In the child's mind there is a separation of a part of her body which is causing her stress and anxiety. You need to get her some books related to potty training. Also some you tube videos may be an option. Demonstration is always helpful so if you take her to the bathroom with you a few times she may soon overcome her fear. Additionally gently talking about it at non potty timings which would be a non performance time will be better. It will take patience and multiple attempts.
