My first foods- Mom, I am six months old now!

Hey are you the kind of mother who doesn’t prefer feeding your little love with dabba packed baby food available in the market every time? Are you confused of what your baby should start with as her first food apart from mother’s milk? It is said that small baby should sleep enough as it is good for growth, but if the baby feels hungry very frequently then it hinders the sleep. Since mother’s milk has more of water content, turning the baby hungry very frequently, so your baby needs something semi liquid or full filling as well.

Here are some of my tried, tasted and tested recipes which are very healthy, full of nutritional value and very easy on your smallie’ s gut.

Sweet sago soup

Sweet sago soup
1) Take a spoon full of small sago, remove any impurity or dust particles if found.
2) Soak them in 1 small cup of water for around an hour.
3) Now put the soak sago along with water on heat in a small souce pan or you can even use tadka pan as the quantity is very small.
4) Now boil it once on high heat and then reduce the flame to low till the sago turn translucent, turn off the flame.
5) Now add few drops of honey;;or pinch of raw cane sugar for light sweetness, stir well. You can use any healthy sweetness option which are not chemically treated, those I mentioned are both healthy and easily available which I also used for my baby.

Benefits: The soup is ready for your little munchkin! This is a full filling option as your baby is growing and only mother’s milk won’t satisfy the appetite so this is one of the best option as it is full of carbohydrate, protein, dietary fiber, calcium and iron.

Salty Rice soup: This is very simple and quick recipe. You can even prepare it while preparing rice for your family.

1) Just soak the rice in enough water.
2) Put the vessel on flame, wait for a boil on high flame. Now reduce the flame to low and cover the vessel. Once the rice is 90% cooked, now pour off the extra water in a cup.
3) Add few drops of pure cow ghee in it, add a small pinch of Himalayan salt.

Benefits: The tasty healthy soup is ready to serve! It is full of energy and very soft on gut. Himalayan salt contains so many natural minerals. The pure cow ghee contains required amount of fat and it is very well known for its medicinal property specially for babies, it’s a good source of immunity booster as well and helps fight from seasonal cold and cough etc.
