Dear Foram, this is the age when you have to give more care and attention towards your baby. Your baby put his fingers, hands, toys or anything available nearby in his mouth which causes infection. Moreover, monsoon brings in stomach infections like vomiting, loose motions, stomach pain, skin infection etc.
So, maintain hygiene standard high. Follow few guidelines :-
*Give him sporolac powder three times in a day along with nor metrogyl drops after consulting with your doctor.
*Keep your baby dehydrated. You can also give fresh home made sugar and salt syrup to your little one to recover from weakness.
*Moreover, please do massage of the legs of your prince at least two times in a day.
* Keep Nursing with Mother's milk.

hi foram. firstly most diarrhea in babies are viral so there is no role for antibiotic unless the stools test is done and suggestive of infection. any viral diarrhea runs a course of about 6-8 days .the treatment is to keep the baby hydrated. so feed the baby everything he passes a loose stool. you are already on day 5 of infection so wait for another day at least. now if the loose stools continue please get an stool test done before anything other medication is given . you can continue the enterogermina

If baby is exclusively breast fed then multiple bowel movements are normal. If there is mucus in the poop then it is cause for concern. It would be good to have a stools test done but check with the doctor if he would want stool routine or culture so that you get an answer once and for all.
