My wife is 6 weeks 3 days pregnant.

She has a very peculiar, sharp and shooting pain on either side of her uterus. The pain is felt whenever she is trying to get up from a sitting or lying position. It stays there for half a minute but troubles her a lot.

No specific time for this pain, it happens anytime she does the above activity.
Could someone please help me understand and/or provide a remedy for this pain.
I would be obliged.
