I'm the youngest in my family - I have an elder sister (she is 7 yrs older than me), so while growing up I would get a lot of her things - hand-me downs, as they say! Not that I minded - I ended up doing things she did - listening to the music she liked, reading her books, dressing like her. Most of my toys and all of my books were the ones she had played with and read, till on my 6th b'day I was gifted these Noddy books! These are the first Enid Blyton books I ever read and owned, and I still remember how proud I felt. I was on cloud 9!
They are 39 years old and I still have them. My childoo has read them and she too has outgrown them but they are still a part of my library at my parents' home :)
As I grew up, Enid Blyton continued to be my favorite author for many years. I loved the sense of adventure I would experience while reading her different series - Five Find Outers, Secret Seven, Famous Five, Malory Towers, etc etc. Then I discovered other books and authors; but it all started with these two Noddy books.
While my childoo was small, I ensured she had a few Noddy books in her book shelf and of course, she reads the mystery books even now.
