#MyWonderWoman #BabyChakra
The first post under this hashtag was by an inspiring woman, who nominated herself as the wonder woman. And she is a fine specimen of the species. Now, if the hashtag was "#wonderingwoman", I could have nominated myself. But since that's not the case, I will leave it at that 😁.
A woman is a reflection of her mother, her first idol, is her mother. For me, both my mother and my mother-in-law, have been great inspirations. Asking to nominate one of them would be like, asking to choose which eye I like better! So, I would choose not one, but two wonder women, both my moms! So here's an open letter to them...
Mamma, now I am all grown up, and I am a mom myself. And now I imagine, how you must have looked at me the first time, in the hospital, tears glistening in your eyes, smiling through exhaustion and pain. You cuddled me, kissed my booboos away, taught me to walk, talk and to be well-mannered. You made those delicious dishes, which, when I make, look like shapeless blobs🙈. You gave me courage to be equal to any man, and yet to be sensual like a lady. And when you married me away, I could see in those eyes, those tears that you tried to hide.
And Amma, you welcomed me into your home and heart, not as your daughter-in-law, but as your daughter. You encouraged me to pursue my dreams and be who I am today. When I was sick, you cared for me like a baby, and bore with my clumsiness, guiding me through my initial days of kitchen haphazard. You stood by me, and gave me courage in that difficult pregnancy, when I was on the verge of losing my baby. People mistake us to be mother and daughter, and its because of the deep bond we share.
And on this women's day, I would like to celebrate you, not because of who you are to me, or for what you have done for me, but because you are the epitome of a generation who were not bound by their husbands from pursuing a career, but gave up for the sake of children. You manage the finances like an economist, cook food like a top chef, and carry yourself with utmost grace and poise. Both of you had no support system after delivery, yet raised remarkable kids (just look at me! 😜). You are so strong emotionally, I have seen you standing strong like a rock in very trying situations, you both nurture a superb sense of humour and are a guiding light on how small acts of generosity can change the world. You are compassionate to humans as well as animals and have taught me to respect all of God's creations. You are the quintessential Indian woman... And I am proud to be your daughter, and by saluting you, I salute every Indian mother and womanhood...
To all moms, every woman has a  #wonderwoman in her...
