question
Need your advice girls!
My 35 days old son’s
Birth weight - 3 kg
Weight after 5 days- 2.91 kg
Weight after 15 days- 3 kg
Weight after 15 days - 2.8kg
Till here he was exclusively on BM but after this we started giving him FM 3 times a day 60 ml per feed
Weight as on 11-5-18 is 3.01kg

Now his dr is saying that during day give him your feed and in night give him top feed even if he is asking for 200ml we can give.

Now my husband is against this as he is saying ki itni mushkil se to weight increase hua what if he reduces if again tab to hum jaha se start hue thei wahi aa jayenge.

What should I do?
# should i buy a breast pump just to get an idea ki how much ml my milk is coming.
# should i weight for him to gain 4 kg weight and then try reducing FM day time feed.

Pls help and guide girls.

First month I argued with my husband for exclusively BF the baby and then he reduced weight so now my husband won’t listen to me even if I try to convince him for putting baby on BM during day time.

Pls tag a lactation consultant also I would love to know her pointers also.

Hey breastfeeding is very important..weight of the
baby will increase after some time , nothing to worry .breast milk is more than just food to the baby , it helps increase the lifetime immunity in babies ..
1.agree with your doctor go for breastfeeding during day; and if required top feed
2. Try to increase breast milk .we have some very good articles; here in Babychakra which will be effective
3. Nothing to worry about the weight as this pattern is very normal .the weight first decreases then tends to increase , m sure you will see the results soon.
Hi
Moms here have wonderfully explained. Initially the baby lose the extra fluids accumulated in the body after a month they start gaining weight. They should double the weight at the end of six months. I don't see any weight issues with ur baby. If the baby pees six to seven times a day and sleeps well I don't think baby has any problems. Feed in demand. Mother’s milk is the best food for babies. It has all that they require. Ask ur pediatrician to inform ur family members. Eat a well balanced diet avoid spicy foods and gassy foods. Feed your baby hopefully ur milk is sufficient. If its really low chk with the doctor for supplements. The more you persuade the baby to latch the milk supply goes up. Tc
