New year celebration ideas.. with your Little one around
I know i am super late in posting this.. dunno what my mommy brains were upto. But theres still a day left and most of these should work
New Year is just round the corner. But days for club hopping or late night parties are over. Come on, you have an infant/toddler back home! and if you live in a nuclear set up, it is all the more difficult to leave your little one behind and go partying. So, your new year would be boring sans any celebration? Fret Not. Below I am jotting down few ideas of celebration which are completely doable with a kiddo.

House Party : This is my all time favourite. Partying;in the comfort and coziness of your home with your selected few people has its own charm. Decorate your house, pull out those board games;and call over your friends (in all the likeliness they would also be parents and would love this idea), make merry and usher in the new year while your kiddo peacefully sleeps in the bedroom. Food? you can either order in or maybe you can plan a potluck party wherein everyone would bring some food. Sorted!! What to do in the party? I leave that to your imagination. Games, Music, Drinks… Sky is the limit.

2. Discreet Getaway : If you are tired with these new year parties year after year and wish to spend this new year away from the hustle and bustle, plan a short getaway from the city. To add cherry on the cake, new years falls on a extended weekend this year. All the more reason to plan a short vacay! Spend this new year in the arms of your spouse gazing the star lit sky from the hotel balcony. Or maybe around the bonfire which the resorts generally have.

3. Celebrate 1st instead of 31st : We all celebrate the new year eve and wake up dead tired and lethargic the next day – the very first day of the new year. Give the eve a miss this time and celebrate the first day instead. Begin your day with a spirituality. Visit a temple and seek blessings. Later in the day, you can plan a relaxing spa session or a lunch date. In the evening take the kiddo out for the stroll or park and make sure your spouse accompanies you. Basically turn it into a romantic walk. As they say, you coming year is a reflection of the first day. So, romance would linger the whole year. 🙂

4. Dinner Date at home : If nothing works out, plan a dinner date at your home. Change the upholstery, dim the lights, put on the candles, bring on the fresh flowers take out the cutlery from the shelf, and get your favourite food ordered. Of course, wear on your LBD and the red lipstick. Are you set ? I am.
These are the few ideas I hit upon while planning for my new years with a 9 month old. Do let me know of more ideas. Theres still some time...

Nice list! Very doable! We don't go out, we usually have a sumptuous home cooked meal with just a few friends over for the evening!
