Not another Corona Virus Panic Story

A lot has changed since the outbreak of Corona Virus, our routines are now hearing daily news with infection spreading worldwide, quarantine and no immediate hope of cure, turbulence and uncertainty scares us. WHO and health agencies share the statistics saying Covid-19 isn't as lethal, but it has created panic because how fast it has gone global. There's hysteria because loved ones were lost, there is self imposed house arrest, air travel is almost shut, you fear a possibility of #quarantine when you land.

This post is about holding on to hope, in the time of rampant health crisis and how to channelize our energy in cherishing the moments we got with family

• Make that one phone call… to a friend long forgotten, your family and reconnect.

• Finish that one book which has been on lying on the shelf forever

• Make your children come closer to what your childhood was, tell them about what you did in house during (summer) holidays like playing cards, board games, pretend play games, narrating stories of why you yearned for summer vacations.

Corona Virus is a Pandemic and everyone is panicking more because of #Socialmedialife , none the less it has affected everything and everyone, but look at the bright side to stay cheerful in times of misfortunes.

I sat with my husband at home today, watched our kid play in front of us, talked about how we used to be in his age… and wondered did we get this time to retrospect our childhood ever in the past 3 years and compare his life to ours from the past? This weekend sounded more difficult in my head as it was my husband’s birthday and we were on house arrest, but we both enjoyed it the most as compared to all the times we celebrated it out of the house, there were heartfelt talks, more grounded expectations, celebrating life, thanking the almighty for being generous, knowing our families care for us so much. ‘Just a Stay At Home Parent’ is now visible to spouse and kids, after long everyone is enjoying hot home cooked food together, watch love helping proliferate with your helping hand. Weekend plans are not rushing to accomplish a certain #weekendgoal or #couplegoals to materialistic pleasures anymore. We are spending quality time “in”… bonding! Working parents are able to see what their child does and what they've missed, appreciating the little things, importance of being able to see each other… alive, breathing, smiling and crying.

Lastly, let's pray and support all the healthcare workers and hospitals which run 24/7 putting their lives at risk for the wellbeing of society, lets pray for those who need urgent medical assistance to start getting medical visa again, people are allowed to travel again, businesses get restored, wish that soon a vaccine comes and the economies stabilize again. Till then in this condition of discombobulation, stay together, hold on to sanity and solidarity by adopting responsible civic sense of hygiene, focus on immunity and know that this isn’t any moral booster or a statutory warning, just something you should be doing be inside, look inside and smell the flowers, believe me, this too shall pass.
