#NutritionWeek #NutritionTip for Constipated childoos
#MyChildooTales
I have shared this food hack before. But repeating it as I see many queries regarding constipation. My childoo showed signs of constipation when I started top milk after she turned a year old. We stopped it. But before that while starting weaning foods, we found out that banana caused her constipation. It broke my heart as banana is such a good, healthy fruit to give - convenient, loaded with calories, potassium and the works! Anyway.
So we increased her water consumption - how - that's a different story! And for the next 5-6 years, I NEVER MADE WHITE RICE!!! We would always eat pumpkin rice or doodhi rice or carrot rice or methi rice (very yummy!) or peas pulao. Rice was made with a grated veggie to give her good roughage. And she loved it with her dal or dahi or butter.
Corn helped her a lot. We would boil corn and let her chew the kernels. She loved it. And it would clear her tummy too!
My childoo is 10 yrs now, and we still make pumpkin rice once in a while 'coz she likes it :) She has outgrown methi rice but enjoys methi aloo sabzi and methi theplas so I'm not fussed.
I give her one/two bananas a week. Thankfully she can eat in moderation now. But it took us a long long time to get over the phase and fear of constipation.
So if you're baby is 6months+ and has constipation tendencies, make sure you give a lot of veggies, water, fruit (especially papaya), prune juice, anjeer, raisins, greens like palak & bhindi, and the pumpkins of the world. Grate doodhi in dal & khichadi if need be.
Presenting Aarini's Pumpkin Rice :)
As you can see, It's super easy to make! Just grate and add in the rice in the cooker!
Pls share your #NutritionTips in separate posts and tell me your food hacks in the comments below!
