On #worldprematurityday , I Just want to remind myself of how grateful I am for this incredible human for coming in our lives a tad bit early (but never too late). 👣 ▫️Ridhwan Jain, born at 28 weeks & 5 days. 🔸 Birth weight: 900g (750 g after water retention). 🔸 NICU stay: 2 months (26.05.18 - 26.07.18)
There is nothing than can prepare you for having a premature baby. Seeing your tiny baby in an incubator for the first time , leaving him behind every night, parenting in an unnatural environment , learning medical terms & even appreciating smaller things like touching your baby’s tiny hands (with nurses permission) , having him placed on you with wires & tubes for skin to skin time & the uncertainty of him having a good day or bad day.... You question everything & are pushed to the edge but somehow this lil man provided us with all hope & strength. 🌈
Sometimes its hard to look beyond the glass. Look beyond the tubes, wires & the noises. But if you look really really close you will be able to capture the moments that make your journey.💫 That shining sparkle of faith that will look right back at you when you gaze at them.✨
In honour of World Prematurity Day , I celebrate my baby & every other child born prematurely. I celebrate parents who spent countless hours in the NICU as they stare at their baby. I celebrate the doctors & the nurses who work tirelessly to provide love & care to our babies.
Navigating the journey of prematurity is not easy. Its scary, lonely & full of things no first time parent is ready to face. But guess what? Through all the odds, statistics , what everyone may think or say... MIRACLES do happen every single day. ♥️🌟
