Postpartum Nightmares coupled with depression

Let’s face it! We may not have the guts to stand up and say “I have been a victim” to postpartum depression. Many shy away and others tend to keep it to themselves, a few brave out and come out to face the reality. But hold on!! What if postpartum depression wasn’t the only thing that haunts after childbirth!!!! “Postpartum Nightmares accompanying depression” is more hazardous than one can ever imagine.
.
.
No one has ever mentioned this or talked about as frequently as other postpartum changes but this is real s**t!Have been there and trust me , it’s not gonna erase from your memory. The mind plays games soon after childbirth and worse if it’s a PTSD! These nightmares keep repeating quite often. They may stop or may not-based on how stressed the mother is.

Typically ,it is called REM sleep behavior disorder and typically affects 1 in 25 new mothers.REM( Rapid Eye Movement) is the deepest /4th stage of a sleep cycle and sets in after 90 mins of sleep. For a majority of new moms this cycle gets abruptly affected and that’s when the symptoms kick in.There may be times when you feel defending yourself against danger/being chased/ violent dreams. Times when you feel like you have accidentally squished/smothered your baby to death is by far the most common. There is no cure, not even sleep hypnosis and only a good night’s rest can work wonders.
.
.
It’s definitely not a pleasant experience at all.But then, experiences do hold a particular value in the society. All we can do is be prepared and not lose it.After all, time is the only healer.

Truly speaking, this post partum depression is one of the worst phase of life. Nobody understands the condition of a new mom.. everyone are celebrating the arrival of a newbie.. although it is a matter of celebration, how can we forget an importance of a mother's role. !!! Thankfully, somehow I managed to overcome with this thing...
