Potty training!

Usually we mommies will check for the toys, accessories and stuffs for our little ones well ahead of time. Yes, I do as well. I would like to share one such experience of mine - Planning out for my kid's potty training!

At my daughter's 8th month I ordered a ride-on cum potty for her. I went for a cheap and okay product which would just serve the purpose. I thought getting one with a huge price tag will do the same thing and the potty is required for a short time anyway. So went with okay product (around ₹800). After getting the product, I made my daughter to sit on the potty once in 2hrs(or 3hrs) just to make her comfortable with it. This continued for few days. By then she was very much comfortable sitting on it. And eventually started to pee and poop as well when she's on the potty. I used to engage her by singing rhymes/songs and reading books. This made her to sit freely and she got used to it.

By her 14th month, she would pee and poop only on the potty and very rarely on the floors.

From her 16th month she started to take the potty all by herself and would come to me(if I'm not nearby) asking to make her sit and engage her.

At the right time, my daughter was potty trained... I'm very proud that I did😊

Following tips should come in handy if you are looking ahead to potty train your little one.

1. Buy a potty when your baby is able to sit comfortable on the floor
2. Try some attractive colored potty and paste some colorful stickers or animal characters on it. This helps them get engaged. Ride-on cum potty will be best. To start with, you can remove the wheels. Later once they get comfortable, you can fix the wheels for added fun
3. Have patience and try doing every couple of hours in the day
4. Repeat the words pee and poop while you are making your kid to do so. Let the words get registered soon
5. Keep them engaged. Sing a song, rhymes, animal sounds, etc. When they engage, they tend to get relaxed which makes for a great stool position
6. Most importantly appreciate them every time
Happy potty training! #bbceatorsclub
