Pranayama is a super simple exercise that can be done after childbirth irrespective of whether you had a vaginal delivery or c-section. This breath control exercise benefits breastfeeding moms in several ways. It helps relax the muscle tension in the body, stimulates the hormonal glands, improves the blood circulation in the body, makes you feel relaxed, and strengthens the nervous system.
Here's how you can practice Pranayama:

Sit on a flat surface with your legs crossed and your spine in a neutral position.
Using your right-hand thumb gently press the right nostril to close it.
Take a deep breath from your left nostril.
Nor using your ring finger close the left nostril and release the right nostril.
Exhale the air through the right nostril.
Repeat the same by this time inhaling from the right nostril and exhaling from the left.

Note: Individuals suffering from asthma should or any breathing problem should consult their doctor before practicing any breathing yoga or exercises.
