Moms, does your day ever look like this? lol 😬 some days Noah naps for 2+ hours and lets me get a lot done (like shower and take care of myself). other days (like today) he decides to cat nap for 30 minutes every 2 hours. I’m exhAUSTED. On more than one occasion today I’ve had to either sacrifice eating, napping, cleaning or showering because I was needed. And I’m very lucky to be needed!
But damnit it’s exhausting some days. Some days I want to tap out for a full 24 hours to recharge my batteries. And it doesn’t make you a bad mom for wanting to tap out some days! It makes you human.
New moms... we’ve had the luxury of selfishness our whole lives and now that is done. Let’s give ourselves grace and accept that there will be an adjusting period to this new life with new demands... and none of those are our own.
It’s hard work but we can do hard things.
