#RepublicParade#North When you start talking about a place where you had spent your entire childhood and adolescent years you could probably write a small book. Being away from northern India for last 16 years has not taken that north Indian feeling from me a bit..
Though I find the whole of India to be beautiful, #North India is close to my heart and has so much to offer... While the states of J&k, Himanchal and uttarakhand (Devbhoomi) are known for their breath taking scenic beauty, temples and hill stations like Shimla, Manali, Nainital and so many more, their food and lovely hospitable people and culture amazes you. They inspires one to stay happy and content in the difficult conditions they live in when almost for months they face difficult weather conditions and are cut off from the world
A little southwards in plains of Uttar Pradesh, you find one of the oldest cities in the world, Benaras. It is a very spiritual experience; looking at the waters of Ganges in Benaras and Haridwar at the time of Ganga aarti when hundreds of lamps light the water and soul and makes one feel tranquill.. Not only this if you talk about monuments one of the seven wonders of the world, "The Taj Mahal" in Agra is a place one must visit at least once in a lifetime. Temples dating back to thousands of years, the monuments from the Maugham era in Lucknow and Delhi are worth visiting. And who doesn't bow his or head in front of the majestic Golden temple in Amritsar.. Northen India is also famous for its chikan embroidery from Lucknow and Benarasi sarees which have a great demand across the world... And last but nit the least is the delectable North Indian cuisine which has found place in everyone's heart. Whether it is the rich kashmiri cuisine or the famous Punjabi food (chiken Tikkas, butter chiken, chole bhature, kachori's) or the sweets like Nimish or Daulat ki chaat...no one can eat just once. Happy Republic day to one and all..lets make our nation proud always.
