#rockstarmom awesome inspiring momhood stories here! the journey is crazy for all of us. and we all have had our fair share of hurdles. my biggest hurdle with my childoo goes back to 6 years ago, when she was four years old. she was attacked by a stray dog outside the park. though she was not bitten, she was severely traumatised. it took me weeks to re-settle my once happy child back into school. her nursery 2 teacher would patiently calm her down while i was forced to leave my crying child at school every morning. the other kids would happily wave out to me while i left totally heart-broken. but kids are more resilient than we think they are. it has taken us years for her to get rid of the mental scars. her legs start trembling as soon as she sees a dog on the street. she stopped going to friends' places who had pets. it became a huge issue for us and i would go along everywhere, play with the pets there, show her they are friendly. gradually over the years, she has befriended some of our friend's dogs. not many, but it's a beginning. we have wanted to get her a pet to overcome her fear, luckily the building of our new home has a rescued pet dog julie, and my childoo loves her to bits! it's been a long 6 years, but slowly she is getting comfy with the idea that not all dogs attack. our latest triumph is she has warmed up to my bff's 3 ferocious looking dogs and no longer insists they be tied up, in fact now she looks forward to playing with them. this pic was taken last week :) so i think, patience and prayers has helped us get over this hurdle, knock wood for now. she says she wants to become a vet so she can help sick animals. she says, hopefully by then her legs will stop trembling :)

I also came across such a incident in my childhood... very horrible to imagine that... when v were playing outside one of our boys was playing with dog... unexpectedly the dog bite him.. he cried like anything... v all small kids then ran away to our place.. from then.. I run away from dogs...sometimes it's unavoidable they come to us swaying his tails...but deep inside the fear won't go away.. but ur childoo S really brave enough to touch...even I couldn't imagine myself touching...omg..really tough fa me... hats off to her...

thanks so much neha. i will show her ur comment. will put her on cloud 9. i m a huge animal lover and every stray dog that passes by scares the daylights out of her. in gujarat, at my parents place, after dinner i make her walk with me - she still squeezes my hand, but i just want her to be strong.
