Saturday's are days when I somehow get time to prepare a power breakfast of my own.. My special masaledaar Punjabi style vegetable Dalia..a welcome change from the simple boring one..even my husband who was averse to Dalia, now loves it. Takes very little time to prepare. Ingredients 1 cup Dalia
Mix of; finely chopped veggies: 1 medium onion, 1 small potato, 1/2 carrot, 1/2 capsicum (any other available at home like peas, cabbage can be used)
2 tbsp oil
Salt and red chili powder to taste, 1 pinch hing, 1 tsp zeera, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala, 1 tsp kitchen king masala or even meat masala Method Take a pressure cooker, add oil and heat it. Once hot add hing and zeera. Once they splutter, add onion first. Bhoono for 30 seconds and add other veggies one by one. Once vegetables are sauteed add Dalia and bhoono while stirring well for 2 minutes. Then add salt, chillies and all other spices. Then add about 3 cups of water. Close the lid and cook on simmer till 4-5 whistles come. Once steam is out...the Dalia is ready. You can serve with curd.
