warm water or room temperature, anything is fine as long as you drink lots of water, its important to stay hydrated....your body went through tremendous changes, so take rest and don't think of yourself as burden... if you feel good, you can so light household works such as cutting and chopping for kitchen etc. Give yourself time to recover, looking after newborn is a hard work in itself, so relax...

Hi pratibha.. please rest as 40 days i.e. 6 weeks is generally the recovery period after delivery. Please do not start with household work as of now and give your body ample rest. A body coming out of another body makes it weak. As of now we dont realise but if any pain remains it doesn go life long. Dont think you are a burden. Just relax and take their help as of now. This period will pass soon.
Even i am going through the same phase and having bad mood swings. But we cant help it.
Recover soon and take care!

Hi Mums there, I have just given birth to a sweet doll 14 days ago.. as I am staying in my parent in laws house and as per tradition m not allowed to go to my parents house before completing 40 days period.. I just want to ask after how many days can I start normal household work so that it won't affect my body on later stages of my life (as our elder suggest to rest for these 40 to 42 days to give time to body to recover properly) . But at the same time it is becoming burden for me to take their(my in-laws) help. N day by day m going in depression thinking that I m becoming burden for my in-laws.. Please suggest as per ur experience.. is it necessary to take bed rest for these 40 days?
