Some of the Signs Showing Readiness Towards Feeding Development Part II:
Like I have mentioned previously in my article, 'Suckling And Sucking Milestones: How They Help in Developing Swallow in Infants', we reach where the infant is now moving onto new milestone of true sucking
5- 7 months: Suckling is outgrown and there is a smooth transition into sucking. Able to take semi- solids from spoon.
6 months: Able to take biscuit to mouth for very brief period
6 months: Observe for lip seal around the spoon
6 months: Breaking into new habit of munching, is observed
7 months: Another achievement…… woohoooo!! Now the tongue knows exactly where to move in the mouth to form a bolus and chewing begins :)
