Hi... Usually these stitches dry up by 6 weeks.... If a rupture should happen and the stitches haven't healed u will bleed profusely....if the stitches are soluble ones then they dissolve on their own without a trace...else your doc would have asked you to meet her after 15 days of delivery to check on the healing of these...and discomfort in the first few months is common... Just you need to care for them really well...

Hi, these days they give soluble stitches which dissolve on its own, however special care needs to be taken while the stitches are still healing. If you think they are torn, you should consult your gyn so that it can be checked once and proper care must be taken.
