Summers!!! 😌😌😌.... Sweaty, tedious, dehydrated.... Ufffffff!!! Hot..... With summer soon approaching can we get ready.... Spending a happy summer is only when we have the privilege of sitting indoors... But here I'm sharing a few tips and tricks that will help you stay cool and fresh both indoors and outdoors. A few special tips for the new moms and mom's to be.;
What do we need... We'll need a few things before we are all set... All my personal favorites, personally tried and tested remedies.. Aloe Vera gel, cucumber gel, coconut oil, lavender oil and tea tree oil to mention a few.
1. Keep yourself hydrated. Drink adequate amount of water. Thirst never quenches in summers, so always take a sip. It's OK to carry a small water bottle around with you. Keep it handy. Moms to be and breast feeding moms,; keeping yourself hydrated is a must... Remember your baby gets the adequate amount of water from you. Apart from water, coconut water is a high energy booster and has high hydration quotient.. Try to have one everyday... You can also give a few sips to your baby's between the age of 7-13 months and about a small glass quantity to 1-1.5 year olds.... My son totally loves coconut water.... Aam Panna another excellent recipe to keep yourself hydrated. If ur working u cn carry some mix along and dilute it when you feel like having. Lassi or chaas... I always carried a tumbler of masala chaas along, when I was working. It helped a lot. I would not suggest canned juices or drinks simply because they claim sugar free, which they are not and will end up making you feel dehydrated in a while. Reduce your tea and coffee intake as it actually dehydrates every bit of you in no time...;
2. Dress up in the most comfortable and convenient clothing.. Opt for clothes that are loose and airy but trendy and go with your style. Pastels are the best color choices for summers... Refrain from wearing dark colored clothes, they can make you feel hotter than you normally would feel...
3. AC to No AC... When your moving between different temperatures that's when your body is more susceptible to a heat stroke or over heat, so try to keep sipping water so that the body can adjust to temperature easily. Don't attempt to drink water immediately after reaching a shady spot from the heat. If you have been drinking water or sipping a few sips all the time then it's ok.
4. When ever you are home after exposure to heat don't wait, simply grab some aloe vera gel or cucumber gel and apply on the exposed skin, leave for 10-12 Mins n wash off..no skin burn, leaves your skin looking naturally glowing too... U can also mix the aloe vera gel with coconut oil and apply it at bed time to make sure you r giving your skin the repair time it needs from a sun burn. Use a good cotton dupatta to cover yourself or your kiddos when out in heat.
For the mom's to be and new moms remember that your water intake is what keeps you and your baby hydrated. A new born gets its water too from the breast milk only. Your hormones will play around, so you might not feel hot or you might feel excessively hot than other in the room. Let that not affect you. Keeping yourself calm, eating a lot of watery fruits and drinking ample amount of water is the trick. Let the summers heat not take a toll over you.;
