Self care and some ME time are important to keep our brains active, keep our cool and get back to our babies with fresh, calm and relaxed mind that way we are giving our kids a better parent that they deserve.
We are so busy taking care of everyone that we sometimes neglect our need to relax and take some time on ourselves. We forget that how this all will affect our physical and mental health and in turn make it more difficult for us to take care of our little ones.
Self care doesn't have to be a day off, or an expensive SPA trip or anything that’s overwhelming. Some simple things to do in our daily life that will help us with some relaxing time and taking care of self.
~Eating healthy and making sure not to skip any meals even when you are busy. ~Enough rest and sleep. As much as its important for your baby it’s also important for you to be well rested. ~Staying hydrated. No only water try and include few juices to get your dose of vitamin. Fruit infused water is my personal favourite these days. ~Get fresh air and exercise. Move your body just by simply walking a few miles or climbing a few stairs. ~Talk about your feelings. With your husband or any close friends or family. It will take some burden away from your mind and you will really feel good as you will feel you have someone who listens to you. That takes away half of our frustration. ~Share your workload. Hire a maid, let your family help whatever you feel suits. Even a little help will help you get some time alone. ~Take time to care for your marriage and make sure you spend some time with your partner. Just half an hour a day where you both can sit together and do something that you both love or just talk about your days. ~Meditate. Nothing will help you more than some quiet time to relax and connect with yourself. ~Visit a holy place. This is my favourite, whenever I am feeling down this is the only place which brings back positivity in my life and give me a clear picture of my life.
Getting connected to yourself, giving time to yourself and your relationships will help alot to keep you calm and be a better parent to your little one.
What is your favorite form of self care?? What do you do to unwind?? Share few things with us.
