Dear Avani, Technology vs Outdoor Games is a huge issue today with parents and children and I have to say that both are important. Your child needs a little technology in his or her life, as that is where the world is heading today and not knowing his way around this can hamper him later. That said. outdoor games are as important, if not more, as these develop several skills which if left neglected can cause major social, emotional, motor and academic issues later on. I usually tell parents that an hour of playing (i.e., sports or outdoors in the garden) is essential on a daily basis while about 15 - 30 minutes of electronic time (i.e., TV, computer, I Pad or whatever your child chooses) can be given every 2-3 days, but this must be fixed with the child in advance so that they know the rules and do not have difficulties stopping when they are expected to. Hope this helps!

it is a major cause of concern. even if your kid goes out to play, you hardly see any other kids playing. so I think right from a young age, if you (mom dad and kid) can go running or for a walk or some outdoor game from childhood, your kid will develop a habit of outdoor games. swimming is also a good game. it will also give you time to bond as a family

There are some fun activities that you can indulge your kid in - Toddler Learning. If the activities are based on your child's interests, they gradually learn to engage themselves. It is a rope walk though.
