5 home remedies for teething troubles in babies!!

1. Offer the baby cold foods and things to chew. If the baby is less than 6 months old, you can use a clean cold cloth to press gently between the gums and even a clean sterlized cold teether, while if older than 6 months then frozen carrot sticks, beans etc can help.

2. Massage is one idea that had helped me a lot during my babies teething phase. Massaging babies head, specially by putting more oil in the centre part twice a day gives relief from heaviness and itching of gums which is actually responsible for babies crankiness while teething. I had used Rogan badam Shirin oil from hamdard, you can use any oil which suits your baby or even ghee is good.

3. Foods like honey, almond extract, clove oil, ginger juice and special crackers and biscuits also help but should be age appropriate. Honey can't be given before one year of age and for biscuits also one has to watch for choking or indigestion issue. Almond extract and ginger juice can be used for a 7 months old baby while Clove oil should be used only after doctors consultation.

4. Teething becomes less troublesome for Children who are on Breastfeeding as sucking helps soothe the itching in gums and also as babies usually become fussy in eating solids during teething, it gives nutrition and is safe too.

5. Last but not the least a child who is getting too cranky due to teething can be calmed by giving a warm bath. This relaxes them and followed by a feed it induces sleep.
Care tips for teething!!
Teething babies usually try to put their hands and every other thing they can get a hold on, into their mouth which can be a cause of stomach infections. So, one has to take care of their hand hygeine as well as keep sterlizing things like their rattles, toys, teethers etc to keep them safe.

Also, one should never try and apply any paste or ointment which numbs the gum area to relieve the pain or itching in babies gums as it can be injested and proove harmful.

One must remember that teething can cause loose motions and even vomiting in some babies but it is not the cause of fever, so if a teething baby has fever and also loose motions or vomiting which are incessant, one must consult the doctor for the same.
You can also use homeopathy for teething troubles. It's very effective and without side effects.
