There is no book or class out there to prepare you for the adventures you are about to endure as a parent. It’s a jolly good roller coaster ride with its own ups and downs. No one is ever ready to take on the role of a parent; something will always come up, and things will happen that need to be done before you are, in fact, “ready.” I myself have been there. At the age of 25, I got the news that I was going to be a mom. Was I ready?
As I enter my second year as “mmmm…mah” here are few things I learnt in this year with Twisha.
* For those who warned me about the perils coming my way, it wasn’t that bad. The initial bit, yes it was. But not so much anymore.
* You get to be a kid again with your child. No one judges you for that.
* I quit my job when Twisha was here. It was a mindful decision and I don’t regret it. She is my top priority and responsibility.
* Suddenly there’s a change in my friend circle. I still keep in touch with some of my close friends, but I've made new friends with other women who have kids around Twisha’s age.
* Oh yes, you have to behave like a matured grown up. Take decisions which a 20 something may not take.
* Sudden superhero with an invisible cape. Multi tasking is now the new thing. I have unleashed a side of me that I didn’t know.

.

* Cram in most of my adult things during her naps and bedtime.
* Right to privacy is officially over. I won't even be able to pee alone. [A lot of moms will agree on this]
* Getting ready to leave the house will require 10 times more effort and 100 times more planning than it ever did.
* Lastly, I have a young individual who is mirroring all my actions. I need to be super duper careful not just in my actions but also my language.
Any of the lesson relatable? What’s your learning like? Do let me know in the comments below.
